The client
Unikube is here to assist the tech revolution by making things easier for established and budding developers. It offers a simplified process of running different software projects on their computers without hassle.
The challenge
Running projects in a local development environment was creating friction and management responsibilities for developers. We got on board to deliver this:
- Delve into intensive research to design a website with all the envisioned features.
- Integrate intuitive practices to reduce the learning curve, and make it accessible.
- Make the system transparent and equipped with high visibility to help manage tasks and permissions.
The solution
Collaborating with such exceptional people with a penchant for problem solving was amazing we assisted them by:
- Doing critical research to understand and familiarize ourselves with the scope of this specialized idea.
- Brainstorming to finalize the most substantial features.
- Creating holistic user journey maps, to enable frictionless flows.
- Generating wireframes and turning them into hi-fidelity mockups.
- Strategically placing tutorials to ensure understanding by all visitors.
Project understanding
& our approach
Given that it was a new domain our team started off with trying to understand different technical features and terminologies provided in the brief. After that we explored potential features by leveraging brainstorming tools such as Fig jam and Miro. Where we practiced card sorting and created user journeys and flows.

We used card sorting to become more aware of the users mental models and assist our dev team in making appropriate information architecture.

This was a key step in helping us analyze a comprehensive view of the website, and realize all opportunities of making the user experience as elevated as possible, by ensuring every interaction is productive while navigating the website.
Ideation & sketches
Using all the derived information from ideation sessions, our team started off with sprint making sketches of user flows. This was followed by instances of collaboration with the Unikube team regarding technical assistance, which supported us in creating an array of screens and components to choose the most proficient ones from.

After prolific ideation sessions and creating sketches, our team finally moved towards creating high fidelity mockups to bring our ideas to life.
Scalable and intuitive web platform
We remembered that the platform initiated with the idea of simplifying things which should be reflected in the making of the website, making the UX streamlined and as frictionless as possible.
The color system, typography and icons.
We added more colors in the palette apart from the primaries, followed by modern typography styles and clean and catchy icons.
Making it more easier for the first-timers!
To help new users, we embedded knowledge based sections throughout the website. This maximized accessibility and improved user experience for all visitors regardless of their expertise in the subject.
